Sir Roger Carr, President, CBI

Sir Roger CarrSir Roger Carr became CBI president in June 2011.

Sir Roger joined the board of Centrica as Non-Executive Director in 2001.   He was appointed chairman of the board in May 2004 and is Chairman of the Nominations Committee.  He is a director on the Court of the Bank of England and he is also a senior advisor to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts.

 

He has previously held a number of senior appointments including Chief Executive of Williams plc, Chairman of Chubb plc, Chairman of Thames Water plc, Chairman of Mitchells & Butlers plc. and Chairman of Cadbury plc.

He is a fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of the Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce, a visiting fellow to the Said Business School, Oxford and is a companion of the Institute of Management.

Throughout his career he has served on a number of committees including the Higgs Committee on Corporate Governance and Business for New Europe.
